Call Sheets
I have produced call sheets for all of my models I am using to photograph in my magazine. Each of these call sheets include an image of the model so they can be identified, the shooting date, location, shooting information, their role within the photo shoot and whether they have signed the model release form or not so I have legal permission to take and publish photos of the model on the internet.
Risk and Hazard Assessments
For each of my three locations which I will shoot my photographs, I have found and assessed the hazards involved with these places. For each hazard, I have described what harm could be caused, the likelihood of the harm happening, how much harm would occur and how I would manage the risk.

Article Planning
I have looked at articles from Kerrang! and Rock Sound magazine to give me ideas of what to include in my article.
Kerrang! magazine article:
This article from Kerrang! magazine is about a band called Rolo Tomassi. The article is a report from an interview with the band and includes information about the band and quotes from the band members. The majority of the article is in third person as it is a report retelling an interview and talking about the band, however some parts are in first person as they are first hand quotes from the band members. Words like 'cool', 'aggressive' and 'hardcore' are used to describe the band. Also colloquial language like swear words were used to relate to the audience of teenagers so the writer is interacting with the reader more. At the end of the article, there is information included about where to buy the album from which is a way of advertising for the band.
Rock Sound magazine article:
This article from Rock Sound magazine is about a band called A Day To Remember. The article is a report from an interview with the band and includes information about the band, describes the location of the interview and quotes from the band members. The majority of the article is in third person as it is a report retelling an interview and talking about the band, however some parts are in first person as they are first hand quotes from the band members. Words like 'cool' and 'tunes' are used to describe the band. Also colloquial language like swear words were used frequently to relate to the audience of teenagers so the writer is interacting with the reader more.
After researching magazine articles from the same genre as my magazine will be, I have come up with ideas for my magazine article:
My Article
My article is about the lead singer, Nora Amir, of a band called Burn Girls. This band is new and upcoming so the article will be an interview about the band, the interviewee's lifestyle and how they became successful.
Style
My article will begin in third person telling the story about the band and then when the interview begins, the narrative voice will change to first person. In the research for the same type of genre magazine as I am planning, I found that lots of adjectives were used like 'hallucinatory' to describe the band as being angry related to the genre of the music. Also, colloquial language like swear words were used to relate to the audience of teenagers so the writer is interacting with the reader more. Other words to do with the music industry which relate to the genre of music I found in my magazine research were 'hardcore', 'mental' and 'cool'. Other words I have thought of which could be used in my magazine to the suit the genre are 'moshing', 'sweet' and 'crazy'.
Beginning
I will use a description introduction about the band to let the audience know about the new band. I may also describe the location of the interview. I will use lots of adjectives in the opening paragraph to describe the artist to encourage the readers to read on. As the band is in a new band and if I state that they are a new in the opening paragraph, it will also encourage readers to read on as it is something new and different for them to read about.
Extra Text on the Page
At the end of my article I will include a small paragraph of details about the band's new single and where to purchase/download it from and also include the band's website and Facebook page so the readers can find out more about the band after reading the article and is helping the band to promote their new single and their band.

Mood Board of Inspirational Images
Image Analysis & Composition
In this image the model's eye line is in the middle of the page which directly addresses the audience allowing the audience to empathise with the model. However she is looking upwards so may suggest she is a shy and timid person and doesn't want to relate to the audience. This relates to the genre of music of indie; she is not a mainstream artist as she doesn't seem confident with her facial expression so is hiding away as she is not a very well known artist and is individual. This image is a close up shot which shows the facial expression clearly and doesn't show any body language which could also relate to her being shy and not confident. The image is in black and white so shows the dark and mysterious genre of the music as she is not expressing her character. The model's hair is messy which shows she doesn't care about her appearance and is more bothered about her passion for music. The checkered shirt looks like a prison cell so suggests that she is trapped in her music and as she is shy she is scared to express her passion for music as the mainstream artists are more dominant. She is also shown to be less dominant as she is positioned on the right hand side of the screen and the audience usually look at the left hand side of the screen first so more dominant characters would usually be positioned on the left hand side or middle of the screen. The model's eye make up is dark around her eyes which represents the dark side to the genre of the music and also matches with the black and white style of the photo. Her facial expression is slightly angry and powerful which relates to the genre of the music and also shows that she is passionate and powerful towards her music. Although the model is mainly represented as being less dominant, she is represented as being more dominant as the lighting on her face is brighter than the background colour so attracts the audience to her face and are not distracted by the background as it is darker and plain so there is open framing.
In this image the model's eye line is in the middle of the page but as he is looking down it doesn't allow the audience to empathise with the character. The model looking down suggests he is shy and timid but also mysterious. The location also represents the mysteriousness of the character as he is situated in a tunnel which is given a low depth of field so there is closed framing which makes the character look trapped. The image is a medium shot which shows the models face but also shows their chest so shows to the audience the costume and colours the model is wearing. The colours of the costume the model is wearing are dull and dark. As they are not colourful, it shows that the artist's genre is not mainstream and is indie. The costume is also casual so shows that he is just an ordinary person other than his music and not like mainstream artists where their whole lifestyle revolves around their music career. His facial expression is casual which also shows he is just an ordinary person but however the slight pouting of his lips shows he is passionate about his music as he sings out his mouth so the audience is drawn to his lips. The artist is mainly positioned to the left of the screen which shows his dominance and attracts the audience's attention to the model first rather than the tunnel in the background. The light coming out the end of the tunnel shows that the model is walking away from here into a more darker place which relates to the genre as he is hiding away because he is shy.
This research has influenced my ideas firstly by helping me decide the facial expressions and poses my models will do. Both the facial expressions on these two images show a serious but mysterious facial expression so I will get my models to do a serious but mysterious facial expression. It has also helped to decide on the colours of the costume for my models to wear. I will get them to wear dark and dull colours like both the models in these images wear. I will photograph my models either by a medium close up shot or a close up shot like these images. These images have also made me think about the location to shoot these images at. I will either make sure there is a plain background like in the photography studio so there is open framing or make sure there is a low depth of field in the background so the audience aren't distracted by the background and there is closed framing.
