Construction of Contents Page

The image above shows my contents page including all the text which will be featured on my contents page which I produced using InDesign. I have followed the style I created on my flat plan with the top half of the page including images and the bottom half of the page including text. The text is split up into five columns to make it look more professional and organised. In the first column, I gave an overview of what will be included in the magazine addressed to the reader. I used the pencil tool to create my own signature at the end which I have noticed editors in professional magazines do. In the other four columns, the page numbers and feature titles with information are included. The colour scheme is carried through from the front cover and the page numbers are written in a large font so it is clear what page each feature is on which is the main purpose of a contents page. I have also carried on the logo of my magazine onto this page. Most of the text on this page is written in black against a white background, however I have written the subscription information in white against a black background so it attracts the readers attention more.

Model: Nora Amir
This image was taken to be used on my contents page as the main image which takes up most of the top half of the page. The image was taken in my garden with my model sat on the grass and looking out into the distance. This represents the model as being free and calm as they are outside but not facing the camera which relates to the genre of their music as it is independent so she doesn't like attention being focused on her so she avoids eye contact. The boombox in the image relates to the artist's passion for music and the clothes and hair of the model are dark so most attention is focused on the red boombox. The dark costume with boots and leather jacket show the dark grungy genre of the artist. I reduced the saturation of this image to make it more duller colours so the red boombox colour is brought out more than all the other colours. There are objects in the background of the image which could put off the audience's attention on the model, however the objects put the model into a more natural location which shows the artist's freedom. As this image will have two other smaller images layered on top of it on the right hand side, I have cropped the left hand side which also had grass space so there is only grass space on the right hand side and the model or boombox is not covered up by other images.

Model: Jack Wheeler
This image was taken to be used on my contents page as one of the smaller images layered on top of the larger main image. The image was taken in a dark forest with the model leaning against a tree but looking away. The no eye contact with the camera shows that there could be a shy less confident side to the artist as they are an independent artist so do not like being in the public spotlight. This is also shown by the unconfident facial expression. The dark colour of costume the model is wearing and the dark location the image is took in shows the dark grungy genre of the artist. Although the image is taken in a forest, you can't really tell that it is taken in this location as no trees are shown in the image but I don't see this as important as I wanted the main focus to be on the model.

Model: Grace Watson
This image was taken to be used on my contents page as one of the smaller images layered on top of the larger main image. I took a medium close up shot at a slight low angle to show that the artist is dominant. The facial expression of the model is serious and confident and shows that she has attitude and is proud of her success. This is also shown by the pose she is doing by touching her hair. The props I used in this image was a hairbrush which relates to the feature description on the contents page and can connotate a microphone. The costume I got my model to wear was a rock band t-shirt of one of the band's also featured in the magazine. I made my model's eye make up slightly dark using eye liner to show that she is from a rock band as most rock artists have dark eye make up. I am pleased with this image, however there is a slight shadow.
