Construction of Double Page Spread

The image above shows my double page spread including all the text which will be featured on my double page spread which I produced using InDesign. I have followed the style I created on my flat plan with the left hand side page including the image and the main quote and the right hand side page including all the text from the article. The right hand side page is split up into three columns to make the article look more professional and organised. I have included the main features which are included in professional magazines like the page numbers, the magazine title name, the article title, images, quotes and text starting with a drop cap. I also noticed in a lot of the articles in Kerrang! magazine that they include two introductions with the first one shorter and displayed bolder across the top of the page before the text and the second one included in the text and longer. From my peer feedback from my flat plan they said that I should make this page more colourful so I have done this by making the text red for questions rather than having the complete text black.

Model: Nora Amir
This image was taken to be used on my double page spread on the left hand side page. I took a close up shot with the model's eye line approximately in line with the readers, however at a slightly higher angle making the model look more vulnerable which relates to their independent genre. The facial expression and pose of the model is serious and shows attitude which suggests that the model is confident. The model is wearing a black leather jacket as I found from my research that this was popular costume for artist's in this genre of music. I made my model's eye make up dark by building up dark eye shadow as I noticed this was popular in my research of artist's make up in this genre. I also put pale lip gloss on her so it looks natural and most attention is focused on her eyes. To focus even more attention on the model's eyes and to make the image look a bit more interesting and colourful, I got the model to wear glasses as I thought the images took looked better with the glasses than without. The colour of the frame on the glasses also matches the colour of the model's eyes so brings them out more. I increased the saturation on this photo as the colours are all quite dull so I did this to make the colours in the image more strong.
